We have been made aware of an original American Diner that is looking for a new home.
The current owner has done some research into its history and traced it back to its American routes. The diner was built by the Jerry O’Mahoney Diner Company, in the early 1940’s. It was originally named ‘The Riverview Diner’ and located at 4105 Front Street, Harrisburg, PA.
In 1990 it was removed and restored before being shipped to the UK. It was then sited in Covent Garden, London, as part of the ‘Fatboy’s’ diner chain. During which time Pete visited the diner as a customer, maybe some of you remember it too?
In 2001 it was moved to its current home, in Kent, where it was running as a restaurant until October 2018.
We’d love to hear from you if you have any more information about the history of this rare diner car. We believe there are as few as 20 of these diners left in existence which makes it a really exciting find.
Alternatively, if your interested in buying the diner, we can put you in contact with the owner, who is very keen to see it receive the restoration and new lease of life it deserves. We would be more than happy to provide a quotation for any restoration work that needs undertaking.

Enquire NowThe overlander 2 has a sleeker profile to the early sixties models. The Corning curved glass frameless windows have no gutters and the doors are flush fitting, providing its very ascetically pleasing, streamline appearance.

Enquire NowAs the Spartan will be lined with plywood great care has been taken to avoid any potential water damage via leaks or condensation. We have glued one layer of insulation to the outer skin with a second layer across the ribs to give an air gap. The inner insulation has been taped and sealed to form a moisture barrier.
Between the first and second layers of insulation we have fitted all the necessary wiring and cable conduits
The first job is to paint each panel internal face with a protective bituminous coating prior to fitting insulation
The very much anticipated arrival of a beautiful 26ft 1946 Spartan Manor – here for a complete interior.
This 71 year old trailer was originally lined in birch plywood with birch plywood cabinets.
The new interior will use the same materials and a layout similar to the original with a front sofa (the observation lounge), middle kitchen an dinette, bathroom and rear bed.
To complete the bathroom the sink and tap are fitted. The tap has a pull out spout which serves as a shower head.
In order to add a little more work space I have fitted a fold down worktop next to the fridge.
The walnut sliding doors are fitted to the overhead locker.
